In-game chat channels

United Factions uses separate chat channels so normal conversation, help, trade, local roleplay, Dutch chat and private team talk do not all land in one noisy feed. Pick the channel that matches the message before you send it.

United Factions uses separate chat channels so normal conversation, help, trade, local roleplay, Dutch chat and private team talk do not all land in one noisy feed. Pick the channel that matches the message before you send it.

Short version

Global /g

Use Global for normal public server chat. Keep support requests, selling and local-only messages in their own channels when possible.

Help /h

Use Help when you need an answer from players or staff. Include your IGN, what you tried and where you are stuck.

Trade /t

Use Trade for buying, selling and player-shop talk. Prices, offers and stock questions belong here instead of Global.

Faction /f chat

Use faction/member chat for your own faction. It bridges into Lands land chat, not an ally-wide channel.

How it works in-game

  1. Use /g for ordinary public conversation that the whole server can read.
  2. Use /h for support questions, command confusion or quick help from staff and experienced players.
  3. Use /t when the message is about selling, buying, stock, player shops or trade offers.
  4. Use /l when the message is meant for nearby players instead of the whole server.
  5. Use /nl for Dutch-language chat, and use permission-gated staff/build/admin channels only if your role gives access.

What to do

  1. 01

Pick the smallest useful audience. Help belongs in /h, trading belongs in /t, nearby chatter belongs in /l, and faction plans belong in faction/member chat.

  2. 02

Use /nl for Dutch-language conversation so Global stays readable for the wider community.

  3. 03

Treat Donator, Staff, Builders and Admin chat as role-based channels. If you cannot access one, use the public channel that fits your message.

  4. 04

Do not plan around ally chat yet. There is currently no separate ally chat route on United Factions.

The public channels

Global is the normal public channel. Help is for support and quick answers. Trade keeps buying and selling out of Global. Local is for nearby players. Netherlands gives Dutch speakers a dedicated place without turning Global into a language mix every minute.

Faction chat is member chat

Faction/member chat exists through Lands land chat. The familiar /f chat path bridges into that member-only space, so use it for base planning, claim decisions, travel routes and anything your own faction should see before the public server does.

Ally chat is not live yet

There is currently no separate ally chat on United Factions. The active /f bridge does not provide /f chat ally, /f c a or a dedicated allychat route. If ally chat becomes useful after launch, it can be reviewed as a roadmap candidate without pretending it already exists today.

Staff and team channels

Donator, Staff, Builders and Admin channels are permission-gated where relevant. They are not replacement support lines for normal players. If you need help and do not have a private role channel, use /h with clear context.

Check this first

  • I know /g is normal public chat and /h is for help.
  • I know /t is for trade and /l is for nearby local chat.
  • I know /nl is the Dutch public channel.
  • I know /f chat is faction/member chat, not ally chat.
  • I know ally chat is currently not available and should be treated as a possible future roadmap item.
Beginner FAQ

Questions new players ask

Which channel should I use for a question?

Use /h for help. Include what you tried, the command or mechanic involved, and your Minecraft IGN if staff need to check something.

Where do I sell or buy items?

Use /t for trade messages, offers, prices and player-shop questions.

How do I talk to my faction?

Use /f chat or the Lands land chat command for your faction/member chat. Keep base plans out of public channels.

Is there ally chat?

Not currently. There is no separate /f chat ally, /f c a or dedicated allychat route live right now. It may be reviewed later as a roadmap candidate.
