Shards and how to earn them

Shards are a small account-bound progression currency on United Factions. Claim /daily for one shard, keep playing for playtime rewards when they are available, and watch for event rewards such as fishing competitions or KOTH. Spend them before the 50-shard wallet cap blocks new rewards.

Short version

Daily chest 1 shard

Every configured Daily Rewards day grants one shard alongside the normal daily item or crate reward.

Playtime Keep playing

Launch chat explains shards can also come from playtime. Check /playtime and /claimrewards for your available playtime rewards.

Events Bonus shards

Fishing competitions and KOTH outposts can award extra shards when those events are active and enough players take part.

Wallet cap 50 max

The normal shard wallet caps at 50 and warns near 40, so spend shards before claiming more.

How it works in-game

  1. Open the Daily Reward chest with /daily when your reward is ready. The current reward table gives one shard on every configured day.
  2. Stay active and check /playtime or /claimrewards. If a playtime reward is ready, claim it instead of waiting for someone to notice.
  3. Join scheduled activities. Fishing competitions can reward shards for top placements, and KOTH captures can grant shards to winners.
  4. Spend shards at the Amethyst Hoarder or shard-related NPCs before your wallet reaches 50.
Server commands

What to do

  1. 01

Start with /daily. This is the clearest shard source for new players and is why staff often answer shard questions with daily chest first.

  2. 02

Do not confuse shards with physical gold. Shards are account-bound progression; gold is the main trade and claim economy.

  3. 03

Use individual NPCs for selling if you have not unlocked Warehouse Access yet. Warehouse convenience costs shards because it saves a lot of walking.

  4. 04

Spend before the cap. If your wallet is full, new shard rewards cannot be stored until you buy something.

What shards are for

Shards unlock personal convenience and progression without replacing the physical gold economy. They can buy extra homes, higher personal claim chunk tiers, shard-locked kits, special items such as reinforced deepslate, Warehouse Access, a Librarian Codex, and Shard Relics.

Why Warehouse Access costs 24 shards

You can sell items at the individual NPCs without that unlock. The Warehouse is the sell-all convenience route for mixed inventories, so it is deliberately gated behind shard progression instead of being free on day one.

Event shard rewards

Current event configs include shard rewards for fishing competition top placements and KOTH outpost captures. These are bonus sources, not the daily baseline, so do not plan your whole economy around winning every event.

Check this first

  • I claimed /daily when my reward was ready.
  • I checked /shards before buying an unlock.
  • I know Warehouse Access costs 24 shards, but individual NPC selling still exists.
  • I know the normal shard wallet caps at 50 and warns near 40.
Beginner FAQ

Questions new players ask

How do I earn shards?

Use /daily for the daily reward chest, keep playing and check /claimrewards for playtime rewards, and join active events such as fishing competitions or KOTH when they are running.

How many shards do I get from /daily?

The current Daily Rewards table gives one shard on every configured daily reward day.

Why do I need 24 shards for Warehouse Access?

Warehouse Access unlocks the convenient sell-all NPC. You can still sell at individual NPCs before buying it, or use player shops for player-to-player selling.

What is the shard cap?

The normal wallet cap is 50 shards. The server warns near 40; if the wallet is full, new positive shard rewards cannot be stored.

Are shards the same as gold?

No. Gold is the main physical economy for trading, claims and faction logistics. Shards are account-bound progression for selected unlocks.

Can I buy shards from the website store?

No competitive shard bundle is promised by this guide. Treat shards as gameplay progression unless an official season announcement says otherwise.
