Factions for beginners

Factions is survival Minecraft with a team, a home you claim, enemies who can challenge you, and a season story that remembers what your group built. Start small, trust carefully, and learn the public scoreboard before you chase it.

Short version

Faction Your team

A faction is the group you build, defend and fight with. On United Factions, the land system underneath is Lands.

Claim Protected chunks

A claim marks land as yours. Build important rooms inside claims, not beside them, and keep the shape easy to defend.

Season A fresh race

Season 1 opens with public history, faction profiles, player stats and rankings instead of only a forum post after the fact.

Score UF Strength

The ranking uses territory, community, Lands progression and completed wars. One huge empty claim cannot dominate the season.

How it works in-game

  1. Join the server and read the rules before you promise loyalty, gear or land to anyone.
  2. Link your Minecraft account to the website when the account page gives you a one-time code.
  3. Find or form a faction, then claim a small base area before storing anything valuable.
  4. Use the public Factions, Rankings and Season pages to understand who is recruiting, who is active and what the season is measuring.
Server commands

Commands you can actually use

Verified rows are confirmed from United Factions plugin code or the published recruitment flow. Rows marked verify before launch should be checked in-game before final public launch.

/link <code> Verified
What it does
Links your Minecraft account to your United Factions website account.
When to use it
Use it after the website shows you a one-time code on the account page.
/ufa recruiting open Verified
What it does
Makes your faction recruitment open on the website.
When to use it
Use it if you own exactly one land and want new players to apply or approach you.
/ufa recruiting invite Verified
What it does
Shows recruitment as invite-only on the website.
When to use it
Use it when you want to look active without taking every beginner who asks.
/lands trust PlayerName Verified flow
What it does
Trusts a player in your land after you accept them.
When to use it
Use it carefully. Website recruitment does not add them to the land for you.

What to do

  1. Do not build your first base right next to spawn. Walk out, scout, and choose somewhere you can hide, claim and leave safely.
  2. Put the first valuables in a claimed room, not a public chest. If you are not sure the chunk is claimed, treat the chest as temporary.
  3. Join a faction slowly. Ask who owns the claims, who can invite, who can open containers, and what happens if someone leaves.
  4. Check the Season Hub and Rankings so you understand what United Factions now tracks: faction history, public claims, members, player stats and UF Strength.

Why come back now?

The old feeling is still the hook: logging in, hearing faction chat wake up, building a base people remember, and defending it with friends. The difference is that Season 1 adds a proper public season layer. Factions get profiles, standings, stats and a score model that explains why one team is rising instead of asking everyone to trust a vague leaderboard.

What beginners usually get wrong

New players often build before claiming, invite before trusting, and expand before they can defend. Reverse that. Claim first, test permissions, store small, make one useful base, then grow when the team is active enough to watch it.

What the website shows safely

The site can show public faction history, recruitment status, members, public claims, completed-war confidence and player profiles. It does not need to expose live base movement, inventories, private roles or current tactical war changes to make the season feel alive.

Check this first

  • I know a faction is my team and a claim is protected land.
  • I will not store valuables outside a confirmed claim.
  • I know the ranking has four parts, not one shallow number.
  • I know public stats should create history without leaking raid-sensitive information.

Questions new players ask

How do I join a faction on United Factions?

Browse the Factions page, ask in Discord, or speak with players in-game. A land owner still has to trust you in-game; the website does not silently add you to claims.

How do claims work?

Claims are protected chunks controlled by Lands. Build important rooms inside claimed chunks and keep the claim shape connected enough to inspect and defend.

Can my base be raided?

Yes. Good bases buy time with claims, roles, layers, repair access and active members. United Factions does not promise unraidable bases.

What commands do I need first?

Start with /link <code> when the website gives you a code. Faction owners can use /ufa recruiting open, /ufa recruiting invite, /ufa recruiting closed, /ufa notifications on and /ufa notifications off.

How does scoring work?

UF Strength is a 0-100 score made from territory, community, Lands progression and completed wars. Each part has a cap, so one stat cannot win the whole season by itself.

Where this comes from

Command rows marked Verified come from the United Factions Minecraft link plugin or Lands publisher bridge. Standard Lands claim/create syntax should still be checked against live /lands help before launch.
